If only every place had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great planet it would be. A lovely lake like Grass Pond near Mud Pond is a nice place to pop by, and Windy Acres Campground is a splendid campground nearby. One of the principal traits of the surroundings of Mud Pond is High Rocks, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Hornbeck's       Creek. Mud Pond is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. There's some flowing water close by, Bear Brook is a stream you can visit during your stay, and Federal Springs is a perfect local attraction. Inn at Panther Valley is a brilliant location to get some rest, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Bald Barren Trail. Get your pulse rate up                  on the tremendous whitewater of Pequest River, and Francis Lake is a delightful lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Bear Brook Golf Club; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Hackettstown. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do near Mud Pond. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mud Pond. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mud Pond plunge into the 10's. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Pond; Flat Ridge Trail is a great local trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Shawnee Mountain. This lake is so wonderful.
