The slopes of Mountain Creek are so inviting noone can resist, and there are great sites to look at along the Kakiat Trail. Why not camp at Sun Air Lakeside Camp if you're here at Mountain Springs Lake, and the sights at Gateway National Recreation Area will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. Apshawa Brook flows through this area, and after a long day outdoors Butler Guest House is a great spot       to spend a night or two. Mountain Springs Lake is a relatively wet place generally with a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the neighborhood of Mountain Springs Lake. Whitewater paddling is good on Pequannock River, and going for a hike on the Cannonball Trail is always a great adventure. Go for a hike on the Pine Meadow                  Trail. Lakes are perfect; Bear Swamp Lake is a lake that's near Mountain Springs Lake. Hidden Valley is a good local ski area, and Wonder Lake Dam has perfect water scenery. For the duration of the warm months here at Mountain Springs Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Mountain Springs Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. A brilliant place to camp here at Mountain Springs Lake is Motor Sports Marina and Campground; Roserne Motor Lodge is a tremendous site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Rockaway River is so much fun, and a round of golf at nearby Sunset Valley Golf Course is a pleasant way to kill some time.
