This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Hope Lake is in close proximity to Mountain Lake, and Pequest Valley is around here, and is a glorious spot. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area next to Mountain Lake has to offer. There are some good whitewater spots on Pequest River; Driftstone       On The Delaware is a tremendous campground nearby. You can take a little tour to Mountain Lake Dam if you're here at Mountain Lake, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn Columbia is a good choice. There's whitewater on Raritan River - South Branch for all you adrenaline junkies, and Fairway Valley Golf Club is a tremendous golf course nearby. A good deal of precipitation falls at Mountain Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and                  February is the month with the least moisture. If you haven’t been to Delaware National Scenic River, you ought to schedule some time for it if you're here, and the slopes of Shawnee Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist. Summertime highs at Mountain Lake typically tend to be in the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Mountain Lake plunge into the 10's.
