Dry warm beds await you at RNJMP - Red Carpet Inn Morris Plains, and a brilliant site to check out is Rockaway Valley. Very delightful scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Hidden Valley, and a lake close by is Powder Mill Pond. If the weather is pretty, you acquire a wonderful view of Snake Hill from Mount Tabor Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Rockaway River offers       some perfect whitewater; camping at Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is always a perfect experience. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Mount Tabor Lake. There's some interesting stuff to distinguish at Mount Tabor Lake Dam next to Mount Tabor Lake, obviously you could also visit Indian Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on India Brook; camping is available at Sun Air Lakeside Camp. Throughout                  the warm months at Mount Tabor Lake highs are typically in the 80's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Mount Tabor Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. What would winter be without some skiing at Mountain Creek, and Mount Tabor Country Club is a golf course close by. A great deal of rain falls at Mount Tabor Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful.
