The slopes of Mountain Creek are so inviting nobody can resist, and Mount Paul is pretty and can be seen from here. Pequannock River is a nice whitewater spot right next door to Mitt Pond; an interesting thing to have a look at next to Mitt Pond is Cozy Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water close by, Russia Brook is a stream you can have a look at while here, and a nice spot for whitewater       paddling is Rockaway River. A large amount of rain falls at Mitt Pond; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest. You could also pop by Moosepac Pond since you're here at Mitt Pond; it's close by, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western The Inn At Rockaway. During the warm days of summer highs here at Mitt Pond get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's.                  The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Mitt Pond through the wintertime frequently fall into the 10's. Mitt Pond is not the only place close by, White Rock Lake is a close by lake. There's so much to do here at Mitt Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a nice site for that. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the vicinity of Mitt Pond will keep you coming back many times. Gotta ski! Hidden Valley is a wonderful spot to do that, and if you need a place to stay Hampton Inn Rockaway-I 80 (Parsippany Area) is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful.
