    It's always fun to stop by Melody Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Mt. Peter is one of those things you just must do, and a trip to Gateway National Recreation Area is recommended. A perfect place to camp here at Melody Lake is Motor Sports Marina and Campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Pine Meadow Trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area in the vicinity of Melody Lake has to offer.  
   Really brilliant skiing awaits you at Hidden Valley.
Dry warm beds await you at Mountain Creek- Black Creek Sanctuary, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pequannock River. Melody Lake generally gets much rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.                Camp Ocawasin Lodge while you're here at Melody Lake, and if you get bored of Melody Lake you could also stop by close by Hines Pond.
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Melody Lake. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Melody Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Visit Morsetown Brook since you're here at Melody Lake; Regency House Hotel & Suites is a magnificent place to get some rest. Melody Lake really is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can explore West Milford Lake Dam, and Rockaway River has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Reflection Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and going for a hike along the Kakiat Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. The peak of Bearfort Mountain can be distinguished from Melody Lake, and hiking along the Cannonball Trail is brilliant fun.
