Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 30's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Mastodon Lake tend to be in the 10's. If you came to camp Tall Timbers Campground is a fine place to do that, and the snow is nice at Mountain Creek. This place, Mastodon Lake, it just has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff.                  Here at Mastodon Lake you can observe Hamburg Mountains, and dry warm beds await you at Mountain Creek- Appalachian. Not far from Mastodon Lake, you'll find Upper Highland Lake which is a picturesque lake; a day on the slopes of Hidden Valley is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Camp Nyoda is always a pleasant experience; whitewater paddling is brilliant on Clove Brook. This lake is so wonderful.
