There's whitewater on Pequannock River for all you thrill seekers, and if you need a location to stay Mountain Creek- Appalachian is a wonderful choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. You can run the rapids of Clove Brook near Mastodon Lake, and Spa Executive Nine Golf Course is a great golf course close by. Mastodon Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with       most of the rain is July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Do check out Upper Highland Lake near Mastodon Lake, it's a wonderful lake, and the charming Hamburg Mountains is here. This lake is so wonderful. You'll discover a picturesque lake called Marshall Pond near Mastodon Lake, and a good nearby hotel is Mountain Creek- Black Creek Sanctuary. There's tremendous hiking along the Cannonball Trail. This lake is so                  wonderful. Camping is available at Camp Nyoda, and Hidden Valley is a very popular ski area in close proximity. Through the long summer days at Mastodon Lake highs are frequently in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's with temperatures at Mastodon Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Hit the slopes at Mountain Creek around here; not far from Mastodon Lake you get some glorious water scenery at Upper Highland Lake Dam.
