There's good hiking along the Pine Meadow Trail, and the vista of Kikeout Mountain is gorgeous. Maple Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a fine place to camp nearby, and don't leave Maple Lake without first going for a hike along the Kakiat Trail. All through the long summer days       at Maple Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Maple Lake. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! Maple Lake is excellent! You'll need more than a day to look at everything Maple Lake has to offer, you can camp at Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club, and you're probably hooked on lakes, Terrace Lake is one of those                  close by. Nearby lakes? Sure, High Crest Lake is in the neighborhood of Maple Lake, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pequannock River. Sunset Valley Golf Course is a golf course near Maple Lake, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Kinnelon Dam. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. The slopes of Mountain Creek are so inviting noone can resist, and Rockaway River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. The high level of precipitation makes Maple Lake a relatively wet site; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Regency House Hotel is a fine choice, and Hidden Valley is a perfect local ski area. This lake is so wonderful.
