Apshawa Brook is a delightful location to visit; while you're here, you could also explore delightful Kakeout Reservoir. Sunset Valley Golf Course is a golf course in the neighborhood of Lake Ma-He-Go, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Pine Meadow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Rockaway River,       and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express Inn is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Regency House Hotel & Suites is a brilliant spot to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Lake Ma-He-Go that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a good site for that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Very pretty scenery and fine skiing is what you get at Hidden Valley, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody                  but if it's for you then, we recommend Pequannock River. Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Lake Ma-He-Go. Visiting Gateway National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and skiing at Mountain Creek is one of those things you just must do. Lake Ma-He-Go commonly gets a large amount of precipitation; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. The top of Kikeout Mountain is easily observed from Lake Ma-He-Go, and the Kakiat Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. During the summer months here at Lake Ma-He-Go, high temperatures generally reach the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are generally in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Ma-He-Go dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Butler Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Cannonball Trail.
