Going for a hike along the Sherwood Path will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and if you come at the right time of year, Popolopen Creek offers some fine whitewater. on lakes, Old Mill Pond is one of those close by, and obviously Bear Brook flows through this vicinity. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff next to Laurel Lake will keep you coming back again and again. Bear Swamp is an attention-grabbing
swamp next to Laurel Lake; in the neighborhood of Laurel Lake you stumble on a golf course called Bergen Hills Country Club. During the long summer days at Laurel Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures
plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Laurel Lake are in the 10's. Soar down the rapids of Ramapo River in a kayak; if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Conklins Crossing.
