Through the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Telemark dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. A day on the slopes of Mountain Creek is just what you need, and a lake nearby is Lake Ames. This       lake is so wonderful. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a glimpse of at Lake Telemark Dam near Lake Telemark; why not camp at Camp Nyoda while you're here at Lake Telemark. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Lake Telemark. Best Western Rockaway Hotel is a good site to get some rest, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rockaway River. Green Pond                  Golf Club is a golf course in close proximity to Lake Telemark, and whitewater paddling is great on Pequannock River. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Hidden Valley is near Lake Telemark. Lake Telemark is a wet location that gets a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is usually the driest month.
