A visit to Lake Tappan is always a good idea. Skiing at Sterling Forest is one of those things you just ought to do, and camping at Beaver Pond is always a brilliant experience. Lake Tappan is a wet site that gets lots of precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Hilton Pearl River is a great place to get some rest, and Lake Tappan is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Kaufmann Henry Campgrounds is a nice local campground. High temperatures at Lake Tappan throughout the summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. in the 10's. The Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail is a great hiking trail next to Lake Tappan; going to Gateway National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
Enjoy a round of golf at Bergen Hills Country
Club not far from Lake Tappan, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Sherwood Path. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Tappan Dam is delightful and it's in close proximity to Lake Tappan; there are other sites here
than Lake Tappan, for example Pine Lake. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
You absolutely ought to go for Lake Tappan. You're sure to bump into some nice folks from New York-Newark-Edison here, and soar down the
rapids of Popolopen Creek in a kayak. Going for a hike on the Woodtown Trail is always a glorious adventure, and get drenched paddling on Ramapo River.
