There's so much to do here at Lake Sonoma that you need to camp here for a while, Black Bear Campground is a tremendous spot for that. Lake Sonoma gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is July; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Pine Meadow Trail, and Carpi Lake Dam is a site that is close       to Lake Sonoma. Mt. Peter is a perfect local ski area, and Wellesley Inn Wayne is a great site to get some rest. Having a great time at Lake Sonoma is painless. A journey to Gateway National Recreation Area is recommended. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake Sonoma has to offer, you can camp at Motor Sports Marina and Campground. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Kakiat Trail; the slopes of Sterling Forest are so inviting noone can                  resist. Do explore Boy Scout Lake close to Lake Sonoma, it's a delightful lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Rockaway River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Sonoma, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Lake Sonoma temperatures fall to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
