Peter. The high level of rainfall makes Lake Rickonda a pretty wet site; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Gateway National Recreation Area is a glorious national park, and skiing at Sterling Forest is one of those things you just must do. There's whitewater on Pequannock       River for all you adrenaline people, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Cannonball Trail. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a splendid local campground; the Kakiat Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. Throughout the months of summer at Lake Rickonda temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with                  winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Rickonda. This lake is so wonderful. It's a good idea to explore Beech Brook, it's near Lake Rickonda, and if you need a spot to stay Residence Inn Wayne is a great choice. Get your heart beating on the delightful whitewater of Ramapo River, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Pine Meadow Trail. There's some exciting stuff to see at Rickonda Lake Dam next to Lake Rickonda. Lakes are magnificent; Harrison Mountain Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Lake Rickonda. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Lazy Acres Pond, and why not camp at Motor Sports Marina and Campground since you're here at Lake Rickonda.
