What a nice lake Lake Hiawatha is. This lake is so wonderful. Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a pleasant campground here, and enjoy a round of golf at Meadows Golf Club. Going for a hike on the Cannonball Trail is always a great adventure; a lake nearby is Lake Montowac. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Hiawatha. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful location for whitewater paddling close to Lake Hiawatha is Pequannock River. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Lake Hiawatha reach the 80's,
and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Hiawatha temperatures fall to the 10's. Skiing at Mountain Creek is one of those things you just have to do, and you can run the rapids of Rockaway River.
