You can run the rapids of Pequannock River next to Kakeout Reservoir; why not stop by nearby Apshawa Brook if you're here at Kakeout Reservoir. You'll hit upon a scenic lake called Lake Ma-He-Go near Kakeout Reservoir, and if you need a spot to stay Howard Johnson Express Inn is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Cannonball Trail, and everybody close by loves skiing at Mountain Creek. Lakes are such calm places, why not check out Butler Reservoir right next door to Kakeout Reservoir. There's so much to do here at Kakeout Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a splendid site for that. All the water falling down from the sky makes Kakeout Reservoir a wet spot; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. The skiing at Hidden Valley is fine, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Rockaway River.
