The beauty of Hood Pond attracts many people from all around. Griffith Pond Dam is a striking site next to Hood Pond, and if you came to camp Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a brilliant site to do that. For the period of the summer at Hood Pond temperatures are typically in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Hood Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. Going for a hike

| | along the Cannonball Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. A wonderful nearby hotel is Embassy Suites Hotel Parsippany, and glide down the rapids of Rockaway River in a kayak. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. offers some glorious whitewater, and after a long day outdoors Parsippany - Days Inn is a glorious spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Really good skiing awaits you at Mountain Creek, and don't forget to take
a pleasant little spree to Stony Brook. This lake is so wonderful. If you haven’t been to Gateway National Recreation Area, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here, and you can never get enough of the tremendous skiing
at Hidden Valley. There's so much to do here at Hood Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is a wonderful spot for that, and there are other sites here than Hood Pond, for example Boonton Reservoir.
Hood Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; through August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
