Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Barbour Pond, and there's magnificent hiking along the Cannonball Trail. High temperatures at Hinchman Pond during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows at Hinchman Pond through the winter frequently dip into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Very good water scenery is available at Barbour Mill Dam next to Hinchman Pond, and Residence Inn Wayne is a magnificent site to get some rest. Why not camp at Camp Horizons if you're here at Hinchman Pond, and not far from Hinchman Pond you'll stumble on Country Club Ponds which is a pretty lake. popular thing to do around Hinchman Pond; Kakiat Trail is a magnificent local trail, and get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Ramapo River. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Pine Meadow Trail, and there are
swamps here too, Franklin Swamp is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Pequannock River, and dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn and
Suites Wayne. Just can't get enough of Hinchman Pond. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mt. Peter, and enjoy a round of golf at Packanack Golf Club. The top of Mount Cecchino is easily observed from Hinchman Pond,
and nice skiing awaits you at Sterling Forest. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Hinchman Pond. A pleasant spot to camp here at Hinchman Pond is Rein Teen Tours, and Gateway National Recreation Area is a very pleasant place to stop at.
