After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express Inn - Parsippany is a splendid spot to spend a night or two; golf can be played at Sunset Valley Golf Course. And that's not all you can do here at Henion Pond. Hidden Valley is a perfect local ski area; hiking along the Cannonball Trail is magnificent fun. The slopes       of Mountain Creek are so inviting nobody can resist, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Pine Meadow Trail. The peak of Kikeout Mountain can be made out from Henion Pond, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Pequannock River. A good deal of precipitation falls at Henion Pond; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious                  site to camp here at Henion Pond is Motor Sports Marina and Campground, and do explore High Crest Lake, it's a delightful lake. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area in the vicinity of Henion Pond has to offer. Camping at Camp Ocawasin Lodge is always a good experience, and obviously, all our national parks are great locations to go to and Gateway National Recreation Area is no exception. Apshawa Brook is a stream that you may encounter while here, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rockaway River. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Henion Pond highs are ordinarily in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Henion Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
