Hands Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. The Pine Meadow Trail is a great hiking trail right next door to Hands Lake, and you acquire a magnificent panorama of Campgaw Mountain from here. A lot of precipitation falls at Hands Lake; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Hands Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp wabenaki is a glorious place for that, and going for a hike along the Cannonball Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Ridge Country Club, and a lake nearby is Bunker Pond.
After a long day outdoors Homewood Suites Mahwah is a great place to spend a night or two, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Kakiat Trail. Glide
down the rapids of Pequannock River in a kayak; there's some flowing water close by, Fyke Brook is a stream you can go to while you're here. At Hands Lake through the long summer days highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the
50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Hands Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
What a location this is for outdoors folks. Shadow Lake Dam is an interesting thing
to check out, and get soaked paddling on Ramapo River. If you came to camp Robert Moses is a tremendous site to do that, and the snow is fine at Sterling Forest.
