There's so much to do here at Griffith Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a good place for that, and float down the rapids of Pequannock River in a kayak. Stay the night at Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club, and fine hiking is available along the Cannonball Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can take a little journey to Griffith Pond Dam if you're here at Griffith Pond,       and a brilliant close by hotel is Powerville Inn. You can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Mountain Creek. Lakes? Sure, Boonton Reservoir is in close proximity. Griffith Pond is a wet place that gets lots of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February. At Griffith Pond through the summertime months highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's.                  High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; night lows at Griffith Pond all through the winter frequently drop into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Rockaway River Country Club is always a joy, and why not a little side trip to Stony Brook. Gateway National Recreation Area is a brilliant local destination here at Griffith Pond. The peak of Sheep Hill can be seen from Griffith Pond, and skiing at Hidden Valley is one of those things you just should do. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do close to Griffith Pond.
