The beauty of Gatun Pond is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Sterling Forest, also Bear Swamp Lake Dam is worth going to while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something next to Gatun Pond? Adler Pool is in the neighborhood. Gatun Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Camp wabenaki is a great local campground, and The Bowl is a great site to check out. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Gatun Pond. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in | |

Bellot Mountain can be seen from Gatun Pond, and there is a tremendous hiking trail close by called the Cannonball Trail. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ramapo River;

Gatun Pond commonly gets a great deal of rainfall; throughout November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
