If you like lakes and you're in this part of New Jersey you can check out Garrison Pond. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express RAMSEY-MAHWAH is a perfect site to spend a night or two, and you can go for a hike on the Conklins Crossing. Good hiking is available along the Sherwood Path, and Mt. Peter has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Ramapo River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by, and why not spend some time

| | golfing at a close by golf course like Apple Ridge Country Club. Camp Hlond Reservoir is a good lake near Garrison Pond, and it's a great idea to go to Pleasant Brook. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Garrison Pond. perfect place to camp nearby. Garrison Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. There are other spots here than Garrison Pond, for example Canns Lake,
and whitewater paddling is pleasant on Popolopen Creek. The warmest time of the year at Garrison Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, ordinarily in the 60's. For the period
of the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Garrison Pond drop into the 10's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Really great skiing awaits you
at Sterling Forest. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Garrison Pond has to offer, you can camp at National Camp Assn. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Garrison Pond without first going for a hike along the Kakiat Trail; dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Inn.
