If you come at the right time of year, Rockaway River offers some fine whitewater; Camp Nyoda is a delightful campground nearby. Throughout the warm months highs here at Fox Trail Lake reach the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while Fox Trail Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter       are in the 10's. Fox Trail Lake gets lots of water; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most while February is frequently the driest month. That right there is lots already, but it goes on; Fox Trail Lake has it all. If you need a place to stay Hilton Garden Inn Rockaway is a tremendous choice, and you'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Lake Acquackanonk. This lake is so wonderful. Hidden Valley has good slopes                  and a friendly staff; from Fox Trail Lake you get a good sight of Mount Paul. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mountain Creek, and not far from Fox Trail Lake you get some good water scenery at Fox Trail Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Bowling Green Golf Club is a great way to kill some time; there are swamps here too, Pine Swamp is close at hand. A delightful lake like Sparta Lake in close proximity to Fox Trail Lake is a glorious site to take a look at, and drift down the rapids of Paulins Kill River in a kayak.
