Etra Lake is a nice lake to visit. New Jersey Pinelands National Reserve is a very wonderful place to have a look at in the neighborhood of Etra Lake. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Etra Lake. You're sure to run into some good people from Trenton-Ewing here. Lakes? Sure, Meadow Lakes is in the vicinity. Laurel Pond Resort is a nice campground nearby; if you need a place to stay East Windsor-Days Inn Hightstown
   is a pleasant choice.
There are other sites here than Etra Lake, for example Peddie Lake, and a splendid close by hotel is Holiday Inn EAST WINDSOR. The high level of rainfall makes Etra Lake a relatively wet spot; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Peddie Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Etra Lake, and enjoy a round of

               golf at Cranbury Golf Course.
Throughout the long summer days here at Etra Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a bit cooler of course, frequently in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Etra Lake temperatures fall to the 20's. Black Bear Lake Country Club is a fine local campground, and why not a little side spree to Timber Run.

Would like to know about fishing at the lake and what fish are there....

Prospertown Lake
Prospertown lake has great pikerel and bass fishing....Prosper Town lake is the greatest. It is located near 6 flags. My brother caught a 15 inch largemouth bass and a 13 inch smallmouth bass before there. And I've caught a lot of pickerel. We used shiners,,, about 3-4 inches big....

Farrington Lake
10 miles away
Yes - Truly the best. I was there for 5 or 6 summers from approx 1964 to 1969. I remember watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon among many highlights......Back in the 60's there was a sleep away camp called Camp Farrington.  It was a fantastic place and one I remember as the most important in my life! Does anyone know or remember? I would love to get in touch with them....

Palmer Lake

We do pretty well at  this little lake.  Caught a 2 pound largemouth and heard there are bigger.  Give it a try....
Write about the fishing. Very nice place to fish with a variety of freshwater fish. There are fishing docks availible plus an easy to luanch boat ramp....

Mirror Lake
15 miles away
Yes, There is a small beach on Mirror Lake. I got there every once in a while since I actually live near there. But I wouldn't recommend fishing there. There is so much pollution in the area where fish breed. The only fish you would likely see is dead fish. Also, it is fun to go out on a small boat like a conoe and look around the lake. There is a small island where if you are lucky, some of the mother geese would allow you to feed them and their young....Can dogs go swimming in mirror lake?...CAN WE SWIM IN MIRROR LAKE? Is is shallow?...

Lake Lefferts
19 miles away
I live on this lake, I'm 14 and every summer I have the most wonderful time on floating docks with my friends and waking up and kayaking with my little sister....I remember swiming here when I was young. A big different from the creek under the parkway bridge....I remember back in the 50's I would go past the lake and see kid's swing from a tree on a rope, and then let go and dive in the water. I was so jealous, but I had Cliffwood....
