East Lake gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Gateway National Recreation Area is a good local destination here at East Lake, and Sunset Valley Golf Course is a magnificent golf course nearby. Camping is available at Camp Ocawasin Lodge;       one of the principal characteristics of the surroundings of East Lake is Kikeout Mountain. Why not camp at Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club while you're here at East Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Express Inn - Parsippany. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do close to East Lake. You can never get enough of the brilliant skiing at Hidden Valley, and if you come at the right time of year, Rockaway River offers some pleasant                  whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of East Lake, you could also stop at nearby Fayson Lakes, and there's glorious hiking along the Kakiat Trail. A lake nearby is West Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around East Lake; Pine Meadow Trail is a great local trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can take a little journey to East Lake Dam since you're here at East Lake, and Best Western Regency House Hotel is a nice location to get some rest. Summer brings highs in the 80's to East Lake; the overnight is a tad colder of course, commonly in the 50's.
