A journey to Hendershots Point near Duck Pond is always a good idea; if you need a spot to stay Inn at Panther Valley is a good choice. Duck Pond is a perfect location to visit for more than one day, Green Valley Beach Campgrounds is a perfect location to camp nearby, and a lake close by is Little Swartswood Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Windy Acres Campground is a tremendous       campground nearby, and going for a hike on the Bald Barren Trail is always a tremendous adventure. During the summertime highs here at Duck Pond reach the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's; overnight lows through the wintertime for Duck Pond tend to be in the 10's. Man, is there heaps of exciting things to do near Duck Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites                  Newton Sparta, and Delaware National Scenic River is a magnificent site nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hornbeck's Creek, and if you get bored of Duck Pond you could also pop by close by Paulins Kill Lake. Duck Pond is a wet location that gets a lot of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February on the other hand is the driest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Shawnee Mountain is near Duck Pond; close by you come across the Flat Ridge Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Paulins Kill River offers some nice whitewater; an afternoon playing golf at Bear Brook Golf Club is always a bliss.
