A round of golf at nearby Bear Brook Golf Club is a good way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Bald Barren Trail; Crater Lake is not the only spot nearby, Dry Pond is a nearby lake. Crater Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains       the most; the driest of the months is February. Don't leave Crater Lake without first going for a hike along the Bald Hill Trail; glide down the rapids of Raymondskill Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Flat Ridge Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and a lake nearby is Lake Success. The views at Delaware National Scenic River will blow your mind; if you need a location to stay Econo Lodge Newton is a great choice.                  Summertime highs at Crater Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Crater Lake are in the 10's. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Crater Lake. Why not camp at Walpack Valley Campground since you're here at Crater Lake, and the snow is magnificent at Shawnee Mountain.
