Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pequest River; Cooks Pond is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Triple Brook Camping Resort is a splendid location to camp nearby. Cooks Pond is a quite wet place mostly with a large amount of rain; most of the rain falls during May; the driest month is       February. This lake is so wonderful. Why not pop by Paulina Lake Dam while you're here, and close by you locate the Flat Ridge Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. Cooks Pond really is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. The Bald Barren Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close to Cooks Pond, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Shawnee Mountain is quite near. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Bush Kill Creek; after a long day outdoors                  Inn at Panther Valley is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Stay the night at Appalacian Mountain Club. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Blair Creek, and Lake Wasigan is a good lake nearby. Alpine Mountain is a tremendous local ski area, and there are other places here than Cooks Pond, for example Silver Lake. High temperatures at Cooks Pond through the warm months are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
