Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pequannock River. Cedar Lake is a wet site that gets much rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Cedar Lake temperatures are regularly       in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows at Cedar Lake all through the winter regularly fall into the 10's. There are other locations here than Cedar Lake, for example Rock Ridge Lake, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Hidden Valley is relatively near. Camping at Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is always a great experience, and if you come at the                  right time of year, Rockaway River offers some splendid whitewater. This place is excellent, just explore all the cool stuff to do in close proximity to Cedar Lake. Cooks Pond is a wonderful lake in close proximity to Cedar Lake; golf can be played at Rockaway River Country Club. Dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn DenvilleParsippany Are, and camping is available at Sun Air Lakeside Camp. This lake is so wonderful. If you would like a little side journey, try Rockaway Valley, and there's always Cedar Lake Dam to stop at right next door to Cedar Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
