Cable Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pequannock River, and some nearby water includes Turtle Brook. All the water falling down from the sky makes Cable Lake a wet site; the month with most of the rain is May while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Turtle Brook Inn is a good choice; Kaufman Campgrounds is a delightful campground

| | here. Throughout the warm months here at Cable Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; night lows at Cable Lake throughout the wintertime regularly fall into the 10's. You get a tremendous sight of Mayapple Hill from Cable Lake, and if you came for an overnight stay Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is a splendid place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Get soaked paddling on Rockaway River; you can never get enough of the magnificent skiing at Sterling Forest. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are in fact plentiful here at Cable Lake. Going for a hike along the Cannonball Trail
will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and since you're here and you like golf, you can stop by Essex County Francis A Byrne Golf Course. Cable Lake is near Orange Reservoir Dam which is a pretty site undeniably worth
stopping at. Lakes? Sure, Orange Reservoir is in the neighborhood. Turtle Brook Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and Gateway National Recreation Area is a perfect local destination.
