This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Hidden Valley, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Pequannock River. Through the summer at Butler Reservoir temperatures are frequently in the 80's while night lows are generally in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's while Butler Reservoir nighttime       low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Very pretty scenery and splendid skiing is what you get at Mountain Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Embassy Suites Hotel Parsippany. This lake is so wonderful. Apshawa Main Dam is a pretty spot in the neighborhood of Butler Reservoir. Lakes are splendid; Johns Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Butler Reservoir. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable stuff to                  do here at Butler Reservoir. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Green Pond Golf Club. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Butler Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Camp Nyoda, and don't forget to take a tremendous little tour to Apshawa Brook. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Butler Reservoir. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Butler Reservoir; Kakiat Trail is a good local trail, and Gateway National Recreation Area is a magnificent national park. There's whitewater on Rockaway River for all you adrenaline people; why not take a refreshing hike along the Pine Meadow Trail. After a long day outdoors Regency House Hotel & Suites is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and you can stay the night at Camp Ocawasin Lodge. Butler Reservoir is a wet location that gets a great deal of rain; during July this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
