There's whitewater on Rockaway River for all you adrenaline junkies, and do have a look at Johns Lake, it's a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Apshawa Brook from Butler Reservoir is easy, and a delightful place to camp here at Butler Reservoir is Camp Nyoda.       The vistas at Gateway National Recreation Area will blow your mind, and the Kakiat Trail is a wonderful hiking trail nearby. Yeah, come here to Butler Reservoir for a wonderful time. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Pequannock River, and hey, Gotta ski right? Hidden Valley is a great site to do that. For the period of the summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Butler Reservoir, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold                  days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Butler Reservoir. The high level of rain makes Butler Reservoir a quite wet site; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful.
