If you come at the right time of year, Rockaway River offers some great whitewater; you can go for a hike on the Cannonball Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Pine Meadow Trail, and the scenery at Kakeout Dam is beautiful. Here at Butler Reservoir you can spot Kikeout Mountain, and hey, Gotta ski right? Mountain Creek is a good place to do that. This       lake is so wonderful. Howard Johnson Express Inn is a wonderful site to get some rest, and Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a fine local campground. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Butler Reservoir. A round of golf at nearby Sunset Valley Golf Course is a nice way to kill some time, and do pay a visit to Gateway National Recreation Area if you're here at Butler Reservoir. For the duration of the days of summer at Butler Reservoir                  highs are ordinarily in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's.
