If you are in Essex county it's always a good idea to stop by Butler Pond. Visit Bear Brook if you're here at Butler Pond; Rockaway River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. If time allows, Gateway National Recreation Area is a national park worth going to, and camping is available at Bryn Mawr Camp. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is South Pond; if you came for an overnight stay Camp Horizons is a brilliant site to camp. Summer at Butler

| | Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Butler Pond fall into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Canoe Brook Dam is not far at all from Butler Pond, and paddling on Pequannock River is so much fun. with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Be careful coming to Butler Pond, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Butler Pond is not the only place close by, North Pond is a close by lake, and
the skiing at Sterling Forest is delightful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Township of Millburn Golf Course is close by, and Hilton Short Hills is a magnificent location to get some rest. There's just no
way anyone can get bored here at Butler Pond. On a delightful day you get a sight of Nook Hill from Butler Pond; no need to travel far to go to exciting stuff like Hawk Hill. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Turtle Brook Inn; going for a hike on the Cannonball Trail is always a great adventure.
