Buckabear Pond is not the only spot close by, Hanks Pond is a close by lake, and glide down the rapids of Pequannock River in a kayak. There are pleasant spots to discover along the Cannonball Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Rockaway River. All the outdoors exciting stuff near Buckabear Pond will keep you coming back many times. Do go to       Cedar Pond Dam if you're here at Buckabear Pond, and Mountain Creek- Black Creek Sanctuary is a tremendous location to get some rest. Buckabear Pond mostly gets a lot of rain; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a good little visit to Mossmans Brook, and an afternoon playing golf at Bowling Green Golf Club is always a bliss. High temperatures at                  Buckabear Pond during the months of summer are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Buckabear Pond are in the 10's. Visiting Delaware National Scenic River is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mountain Creek. Camp Ocawasin Lodge is a splendid campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
