Any time is a great time at Buckabear Pond if you like the outdoors. If you need a spot to stay Appalachian Motel is a delightful choice, and hiking along the Cannonball Trail is brilliant fun. Buckabear Pond is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls all through July; the driest of the months is February. Some of the water nearby flows, like Mossmans Brook, and if you come at the right time       of year, Pequannock River offers some great whitewater. Stay the night at Motor Sports Marina and Campground, and why not head up to Mountain Creek and strap some skis to your feet. For you golfers we recommend nearby Bowling Green Golf Club, and Buckabear Pond is a great place to camp, Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a great place. Cedar Pond Dam is an interesting thing to check out, and Hidden Valley is a very popular ski area close at hand. Summer brings                  highs in the 80's to Buckabear Pond. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Buckabear Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Mountain Creek Resort, and Delaware National Scenic River is one of the destinations that are perfect to stop by nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
