Kandle Lake
I went to Kandle Lake for the first time this past weekend with my daughters (3 and 5), as guests of another family. We all had a blast. The location was very clean, the lake was full of fun activities, had a sectioned off part for the little kids, two different height diving boards, rope swing, water slide, fountains, etc. We also went in the pool (including the separate kiddie pool). After one visit, I'm planning on buying a membership for next summer, and possibly considering buying a trailer. And this was my first time at a campground!...
Newton Lake
1 PHOTO Nice place to paddle. Plenty of tributaries to explore. Good amount of waterfowl & turtles!...
Crystal Lake
I was wondering if it is stocked....
Cooper River Lake
Nice, quiet lake with public launch off of N. Park Drive. Lower portion of the lake is often used by sailboats and crew boats, but the upper portion is generally quiet & makes for a nice paddle...
Wilson Lake
The memories at this lake as a child, are all good ones. A time to spends hours and hours with your family with little money and to much fun for all. I remember swimming for hours (in the ice tea water--HA), boats you would ride until your feet and legs couldn't do it anymore) and the store with the screen (sqeeky) door. Life was great. There are so many good memories at this lake. It is all good...
Sunshine Park Lake
...Several animal rescue organizations band together and hold ''Woodstock'' here every year?...
New Brooklyn Lake
10 miles away Horrible! Needs to be renamed the New Brooklyn Swamp. Having a ''canoe launch'' is usually indicative of a nice place to paddle - this place was just plain nasty. The tree debris in the water was unbelievable and blocked off any viable path. Don't waste your time trying to portage over them either...once you scramble over & under all the debris, going left is blocked by a huge beaver dam and the other way becomes too shallow and is so packed by tree and encroaching shoreline you can't get through. What a disappointment...I thought we found a nice little lake close to home for a nice after work paddle......
Spruce Lake
11 miles away Private lake. Must be a member in good standing of Timber Lakes Assoc. to use facilities....
Malaga Lake
12 miles away Malaga is a great lake for catching fish, however there are alot of stumps which makes it harder for larger boats. Also the vegetation is very bad in mid season so you have to use a weedless setup....
Lake Lonnie
13 miles away Lake lonnie has really gone downhill....I Think Lake Lonnie Is Great For Bass Fishing....
Swedes Lake
13 miles away Still a great lake compared to Lonnie....Great little lake for fishing. Used my kayak there had a great time. Seemed very clean....
Hospitality Creek

Palatine Lake
15 miles away I am 83 yrs of age, and had many outings at Lake Palatine for swimming and picnics. There were times though that we had to pack up nd leave when my parents opened the picnic basket, due to the miserable Yellow Jackets swarmed around us when we started to eat. What a big disappointment THAT was.! So sorry I have NO pictures! How we seven kids enjoyed those outings.I have NEVER forgotten those trips....
Holiday Lake
15 miles away 1 PHOTO The lake was a popular day vacation spot for people from South Jersey and Philadlephia...from the 50's through 70's!!! There was a lake, swimming pool, concession stand, mini golf, picnic area etc. From what was said before it was sold, they were being forced to sell because of rising insurance rates from of frivolous lawsuits. It sat decaying for years - outside there's a really cool retro style gate right out of the 50's & the sign says Holiday Lake. Beyond it lies a dried out swimming pool full of dirt & grass growing out of it. Dilapidated buildings that were once changing rooms surround the lake. You used to be able to rent bathing suits. There's an old decaying minature golf course and abandoned playground. The entire scene is creepy. Property was bought by a church....
