This is a good region for people who like lakes. Sunset Lake is a lake nearby, and close by Rockaway Valley is a delightful place to go. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mountain Creek while you're here; it's a pleasant idea to go to Stony Brook. I don't want to       stop, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Birchwood Lake. The high level of rain makes Birchwood Lake a reasonably wet place; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. Birchwood Lake is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a pleasant location to camp nearby; Fairfield Inn & Suites Parsippany is a good spot to get some                  rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Birchwood Lake and you like golf, you can go to Rockaway River Country Club, and there's whitewater on Pequannock River for all you adrenaline junkies. Through the days of summer at Birchwood Lake highs are commonly in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Birchwood Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is a tremendous campground nearby, and what would winter be without some skiing at Hidden Valley. There is a delightful hiking trail near Birchwood Lake called the Cannonball Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Rockaway River. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Birchwood Lake.
