A trail surrounding the second and 3rd ponds makes for a nice walk although a little overgrown in places. Fishing has been slow to recover from the fishkill in 2001 when fertilizer chemicals built up on the deep bottom mixed with the pondwater creating toxic conditions for the fish. It is slowly improving with the bass and pickerel that have survived are replenishing the fish population. I've caught some 4 to 6 pound bass in recent years so they must have been around before and survived the fishkill which is good news. The Pond is stocked with trout annually, but I can't see them lasting longer than a couple of weeks due to the warm and stagnant waters. Spring and early summer are the best times to go before the fertilizer rich waters of pond foster abundant algae and lillypad growth. The second and third ponds are the best for bass, while catfish can be caught anywhere and thrive in the stagnant waters. I would recommend shiners for bass if you can find them anywhere, but lures work fine. Get soaked paddling on Pequannock River, and what would winter be without some skiing at Mountain Creek. Near Bee Meadow Pond you stumble on the Cannonball Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. The warmest time of the year at Bee Meadow Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are       frequently in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Bee Meadow Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Bee Meadow Pond. Nearby lakes? Sure, Lake Parsippany is next to Bee Meadow Pond; a round of golf at nearby Madison Golf Club is a tremendous way to kill some time. After a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Hanover is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and the                  slopes of Hidden Valley are so inviting nobody can resist. Bee Meadow Pond is a quite wet place generally with a lot of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. Visit Black Brook while you're here at Bee Meadow Pond, and paddling on Rockaway River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Sierra Suites Parsippany, and if you came for an overnight stay Brookwood Swim and Tennis Club is a magnificent site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Forge Pond while you're here at Bee Meadow Pond; it's nearby, and a brilliant swamp next to Bee Meadow Pond is Black Meadows.
