Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rockaway River; Bear Swamp Lake Dam Two is an out of the ordinary thing to check out. Near Bear Swamp Lake you locate a golf course called Sunset Valley Golf Course; since you're here you can take a hike along the Kakiat Trail. During the months of summer highs here at Bear Swamp Lake reach the 80's,       and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while Bear Swamp Lake overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. All our national parks are perfect spots to pop by, and Gateway National Recreation Area is no exception; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Pine Meadow Trail. Bear Swamp Lake is a wet location that gets a great deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Hidden Valley is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Henion Pond. Just can't get enough of Bear Swamp Lake.
