If you like swamps, you're in luck, Franklin Swamp is right nearby; there's whitewater on Ramapo River for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Baker Pond is a glorious place to camp, Motor Sports Marina and Campground is a glorious place, and not far from Baker Pond you'll find Caille Lake which is a pretty lake. Really good skiing awaits you at Sterling Forest. That right there is loads already, but it carries       on; Baker Pond has it all. On a good day at Baker Pond you can take a hike along the Kakiat Trail, and you can stay the night at Camp wabenaki. There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Baker Pond called the Pine Meadow Trail; Mt. Peter has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff. Packanack Golf Club is a good golf course close by; Residence Inn by Marriott Wayne is a tremendous place to get some rest. High temperatures at Baker Pond through the warmest time                  of the year are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and night lows through the wintertime for Baker Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Preakness Mountain is easily made out from Baker Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Wellesley Inn Wayne. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Baker Pond you can take a hike along the Cannonball Trail; you can run the rapids of Pequannock River.
