It is a great place to live for a nature lover, or anyone looking for some peace and quite with beautiful natural surroundings. But, it is not a place you can casually visite since it is a private community on a private road. Sunset Lake Dam is a location that is in close proximity to Arapaho Lake; paddling on Paulins Kill River is so much fun. Just can't get enough of Arapaho Lake. High temperatures at Arapaho Lake during the warm months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Arapaho Lake. The landscape       around Arapaho Lake is dominated by the Sparta Mountains, and Upper Sunset Lake is a perfect lake close by. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Arapaho Lake. If you came to camp Beaver Hill Campground is a magnificent place to do that; in the neighborhood of Arapaho Lake you discover a golf course called Ballyowen Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of India Brook in a kayak; lakes are such calm places, why not take a look                  at Glen Lake. Arapaho Lake is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Sun Air Lakeside Camp is a tremendous local campground, and a perfect nearby hotel is Hilton Garden Inn Rockaway. A day on the slopes of Hidden Valley is just what you need; you can make out Sparta Mountains from Arapaho Lake. Head up to Mountain Creek and strap some skis to your feet, and if you need a place to stay Courtyard By Marriott Mount Arlington is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Pine Swamp is right nearby, and Sparta Glen is a pleasant place to go to.
