If you come at the right time of year, Fowler River offers some magnificent whitewater, and close by you find the Clark Trail which is a great hiking trail. You're in all probability addicted to lakes, Three Thousand Acre Pond is one of those nearby, and the West Ridge Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Prescott Hill is painless to spot from Whitney Pond. There's so much to do here at Whitney Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Crescent Campsites is a magnificent site for that. Head up to Whaleback and strap some skis to your feet, and going for a hike on the Mowglis Trail is always a fine adventure. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Whitney Pond to see the water at Kilton Pond Dam, and there are some great whitewater spots on Smith River. Summer at Whitney Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; overnight lows through the winter for Whitney Pond tend to be in the 0's.
