Throughout the days of summer at Wheeler Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Wheeler Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. Take a side trip to Fox Brook, and if you come at the right time of year, Stony Brook offers some nice whitewater. Just       can't get enough of Wheeler Pond. Go for a hike on the Mitchell Hill Road. If you need a location to stay Wachusett Village Inn is a splendid choice, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Contoocook River. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Crotched Mountain in the neighborhood; going for a hike on the Wapack Trail is always a glorious adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Wheeler Pond without first going for a hike along                  the Parker Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Wachusett Mountain. Wheeler Pond is a good place to visit for more than one day, Woodmore Campground is a good place to camp nearby, and Pratt Pond Dam is a striking location. But wait, there's more to do close to Wheeler Pond. Plaza Court Motel and Campgrounds is a glorious campground nearby, and from Wheeler Pond you get a great vista of Conant Hill. The smiling folks of Manchester-Nashua like to hang out close by, naturally you could also stop by Smithville Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all.
