    Beautiful Wheeler Pond has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Scudder Trail is magnificent fun. Wheeler Pond is a beautiful lake in the White Mountains. Through the days of summer at Wheeler Pond temperatures are commonly in the 70's; the overnight is a little chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Wheeler Pond dipping down into the 0's throughout winter  
   nights.
Camping at Basin Campground and Picnic Area is always a great experience; dry warm beds await you at A Top Notch Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Wild River in a kayak, and Royalty Inn is a tremendous spot to get some rest. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Black Mountain is in close proximity to Wheeler Pond, and Wheeler Pond is great enough to spend more than a
 
               day at, Wild River Campground is a great local campground.
Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. A day on the slopes of Sunday River is just what you need, and Lary Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting. Here at Wheeler Pond you can see Crows Nest, and do take a hike on the Hastings Trail. Yeah, come up here to the White Mountains for a perfect time. If you come at the right time of year, Peabody River offers some good whitewater, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Highwater Trail.
An average amount of rain falls at Wheeler Pond; during August this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
