The high level of rain makes Vilas Pool a quite wet place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Everyday Inn is a nice site to spend a night or two, and going for a hike along the Hang Glider Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. On a delightful day you obtain a view of Cock Hat Hill from       Vilas Pool, and soar down the rapids of Cold River in a kayak. Throughout the long summer days highs here at Vilas Pool get into the 80's, and the night is a bit cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Vilas Pool are in the 0's. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Vilas Pool. There's so much to do here at Vilas Pool that you need to camp                  here for a while, Surry Mountain Camp Ground is a brilliant place for that, and lots of people from Keene come here. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Hooper Golf Club not far from Vilas Pool; hiking along the Slot Trail is delightful fun.
