What would winter be without some skiing at Ascutney; one of the main traits of the surroundings of Vilas Pool is Cock Hat Hill. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course near Vilas Pool is Hooper Golf Club; dry warm beds await you at Everyday Inn. This lake is so wonderful. There is a pleasant hiking trail in the vicinity of Vilas Pool called the Slot Trail, and if you need a site to stay Red Robin Motel is       a glorious choice. Vilas Pool generally gets a great deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is when it's the driest. During your tour to Vilas Pool you'll meet some people from Keene for sure; going for a hike on the Hang Glider Trail is always a glorious adventure. Cold River is a nice whitewater spot in close proximity to Vilas Pool; you can stay the night at Surry Mountain Camp Ground. If only every spot had this much                  outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. There's so much to do here at Vilas Pool that you need to camp here for a while, The Farm Campground is a good place for that, and why not visit Vilas Pool Dam if you're here. The Futures Trail is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Vilas Pool, and as expected Crane Brook is a gorgeous stream that is worth checking out. Throughout the days of summer at Vilas Pool highs are regularly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's.
