Upper Mountain Lake is right by the Chippewa Trail, and don't forget to take a great little visit to Waterman Brook. Throughout the warm months highs here at Upper Mountain Lake reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Upper Mountain Lake dipping down into the 0's through       winter nights. Upper Mountain Lake gets a normal amount of annual rain; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is February. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Upper Mountain Lake has it all. This lake is so wonderful. Interesting geology is available here; Pond Ledge is in the vicinity of Upper Mountain Lake; camping is available at Twin River Campground and Cottages. This lake is so wonderful.                  In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wild Ammonoosuc River; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Cannon Mountain is quite near. If you came for an overnight stay Pleasant Valley Camp Grounds is a fine spot to camp, and a round of golf at nearby Blackmount Country Club is a glorious way to kill some time. Take a hike on the Black Mountain Trail, and an exciting thing to go to near Upper Mountain Lake is Olsen Dam. Wild Ammonoosuc River is a tremendous whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Upper Mountain Lake, and the skiing at Lyndon Outing Club is fine. Places like The Plain are wonderful to stop at, and dry warm beds await you at Ammonoosuc Inn. And that's not all you can do here at Upper Mountain Lake.
