If you came to camp Swain Brook Campground is a pleasant spot to do that; whitewater paddling is brilliant on Baker River - South Branch. Brackett Brook is a delightful stream that is worth going to; Pond Brook River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the White Mountains. You can see Atwell Hill from Upper Baker Pond; Pickerel       Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Upper Baker Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Pemi River Campground is a pleasant place for that, and if you need a site to stay The Trumbull House Bed And Breakfast is a great choice. For the duration of the summertime months here at Upper Baker Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are                  in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Upper Baker Pond through the wintertime usually plunge into the 0's. Upper Baker Pond gets a typical amount of rain; throughout August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. The Grimes Hill Road offers hiking at its best, and Whaleback has great slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. Take a hike on the Blueberry Mountain Trail; dry warm beds await you at Ammonoosuc Inn.
