From a rain point of view Sunset Lake is a pretty normal place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. A day at scenic Campers Beach in the neighborhood of Sunset Lake is a good thing to do, and you can run the rapids of Contoocook River. Very striking scenery and perfect skiing is what you get at Crotched Mountain, and going for a       hike on the Mitchell Hill Road is always a perfect adventure. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Pats Peak since you're here, and Monadnock Country Club is a golf course nearby. Picnickers Beach is in close proximity to Sunset Lake and is a pretty beach to stop at, and dry warm beds await you at Colonial Hotel. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are in fact abundant here at Sunset Lake. After a long day outdoors The Henniker Motel is a                  splendid place to spend a night or two, and there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Wapack Trail. While you're here at Sunset Lake, you could also have a look at picturesque Otter Brook Pond; you're sure to run into some friendly people from Manchester-Nashua here. Do visit Hogback Pond next to Sunset Lake, it's a charming lake; if you came for an overnight stay Field'n Forest Recreation Area is a great place to camp. You simply should like Sunset Lake. Swamps like Spruce Swamp are fun to pop by, and you can go for a hike on the Parker Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Seven Maples Campground since you're here at Sunset Lake; Crotched Mountain can be distinguished from Sunset Lake. All through the summertime months highs here at Sunset Lake reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's.
