Stump Pond is a spot with many visitors from Manchester-Nashua, and if you're here, you could also stop by charming Pennichuck Pond. Enjoy a round of golf at Soughegan Woods Golf Club not far from Stump Pond. There's so much to do here at Stump Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Field and Stream Travel Trailer Park is a great place for that. Man, is there loads of entertaining stuff to do close to Stump Pond. Float down the rapids of Piscataquog River

| | in a kayak, and needless to say Muddy Brook flows through this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Merrimack River is so much fun, and some magnificent nature is available in Ponemah Forest. If you came to camp Field & Stream Travel Trailer is a perfect place to do that, and after a long day outdoors Crowne Plaza Hotel NASHUA is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. it would be. Gotta ski! McIntyre is a splendid site to do that, and if you need a place to stay Hampton Inn Nashua is a nice choice. If you like swamps, you're in luck, White Pine Swamp is right nearby, and you can take a little
spree to Farley Brook Dam since you're here at Stump Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Old Country Road, and Little Honey Pot Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. Stump Pond gets lots
of water; throughout November this area sees the most rain, and September is the month with the least moisture. There's great hiking along the Mitchell Hill Road, and what would winter be without some skiing at Pats Peak. Throughout
the long summer days here at Stump Pond, high temperatures usually reach the 80's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows at Stump Pond throughout the wintertime typically drop into the 10's.

Locust Pond
 | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
