Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a glorious spot to get some rest, and Contoocook River is a great whitewater spot nearby. At Steels Pond all through the summertime highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's; overnight lows at Steels Pond through the wintertime       generally drop into the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. A splendid place for whitewater paddling close to Steels Pond is Contoocook River - North Branch, and Crotched Mountain is a great local ski area. This lake is so wonderful. Very pleasant water scenery is available at Steel Pond Dam close to Steels Pond, and the Monadnock Sunapee Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Lily Pond, and you                  can stay the night at Cliffton's Country Camping. Campbell Mountain can be made out from Steels Pond, and do take a hike on the Parker Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Steels Pond has to offer, you can camp at Oxbow Campground; why not take a refreshing hike along the Wapack Trail. Man, is there a heap of fun stuff to do near Steels Pond. The smiling folks of Concord like to hang out close by. Steels Pond is not the only site close by, Bagley Pond is a close by lake, and since you're here you can play some golf at Angus Lea Golf Course.
